Kim Kardashian: Get the look

I don't know about you, but in my opinion the Kardashian's are the queens of style. As you can see from one of my previous posts on Khloe Kardashian's style choices, when flicking through news articles today, Kim Kardashian's outfit really caught my eye, and so I thought I would try and re-create her look with high street alternatives! On a recent shopping trip with Kanye, Kim was spotted in a Givenchy ruffled peplum dress from the Spring/Summer 2012 collection, whatttt?! Talk about recycling, usually the Kardashian's are never spotted in the same outfit twice! However, Kim looked absolutely gorgeous in this cream ruffle front dress, and she teamed it with a sheer black lace blouse, Bottega Veneta gold clutch, and black & gold strappy sandals. You can recreate the look with pieces I have found here for a lot less than that Kardashian price tag...

Beauty brand of the week: Batiste

So when I have browsed other peoples blogs I've realised that my blog is missing one weekly consistent post. So from now on I will be doing beauty/ fashion brand of the week, which will consist of my favourite brands and their products of that week! To start off with, Batiste is my beauty brand of the week, their dry shampoo range is simply a life saver! I don't know about you, but I use Batiste dry shampoo almost everyday, it smells gorgeous and is essential for giving your hair a little boost between washes. For many years now I have used either the 'coconut & exotic tropical' or 'floral and flirty blush' bottles as they smelt divine, however I noticed that although it banished the grease and left little residue, my hair was left a little flat. Recently boots had a 2 for 1 offer on the batiste range which is when I came across a new bottle, 'XXL volume' in a very attractive pink shimmering bottle so I instantly wanted to try it ... I can honestly say that the product instantly boosts your hair and adds volume without clagging up the hair or leaving residue, it also works particularly well on my fringe. If your hair is prone to grease between washes simply spray some of the product at the roots and the underneath of your hair and see the difference! Batiste also offers many other dry shampoos including colour, volumising, nourishing and original collections for different hair types, which is your favourite dry shampoo? :)

My week in pictures!

Just another post to give you a little more insight into what I have been up too in the past week! To be honest I don't really have a very exciting life but I know I absolutely love it when fellow bloggers do these sort of life posts so I hope you enjoy! What have you been up to this week? :)
Well firstly I decided to start my week with a lazy Monday! So I decided to dedicate my day to revision, pfft, I eventually messed on with my hair and curlers instead, very productive day. Wednesday I went to my first big house party, Leeds is full of huge (old and creepy) student houses and me and my uni friends decided to start our night with 18'' pizzas and pre drinks, perfect! Friday I was feeling all festive and had my first 'honeycomb hot chocolate' from Costa, seriously you need to try one of these! Mmmmmm. Saturday my family came to visit me at uni and we took advantage of the German Christmas market again seen as it was also my dad's birthday, the cost of the meal was over £70 whatttttt?! After this we did a spot of Christmas shopping, I am so lucky to be living in Leeds right now because the shopping is simply amazzzzing. I also got to come back home with them this weekend and spent some time making Christmas decorations with my little sister. Nawww!

Treat Time!

Time for a treat, or just an excuse? Hmm, genuinely this accessory caught my eye when I was walking through town, and so I went back to buy it yesterday. The other day I realised I didn't even have a clutch! Whattttt???? I really love this one and it really caught my eye because the clutch also comes with a strap to make it into a short handbag, which is super suitable and handy to use when you want to grab something out of your bag quick. The design is also especially nice, the typical envelope style clutch is made even better because of the black velvet and glitter contrast along with the gold chain, which basically incorporates all of the current trends at the moment! The price is also excellent, which is what I have found with the majority of New Look's products, at £12.99 this is such a bargain, I also used my 10% student discount to get mine for just £11.69! The clutch also comes in 2 different versions so you can choose from either black and gold glitter, or black patent croc print, and you can grab yourself one here ! :)

Product Review: Maybelline Color Show & Rimmel London Space Dust

Just a little post to share with you some nail varnishes I just tried! A while ago I was given Maybelline Color show nail varnish from my friend as a birthday present, I absolutely love it but never got around to trying it! I also bought the new Rimmel London Space Dust the other day from boots as it instantly caught my eye, I cant resist a bit of pink and sparkles... I tend to mix up my nail varnishes by using one as a bottom coat and the other (usually glitter) to add a little sparkle to the top, and I found Color show (shade 83 PINK BIKINI) and Space Dust (shade 004 Luna Love) were the perfect combination. Even if you don't try either of these shades, you should definitely check out the Color Show and space dust ranges as they have a huge array of beautiful colour shades to try! Plus, they are both just £2.99 and £3.99, a super affordable price to pay for beautiful nails! What is your favourite nail varnish shade at the moment? Have you tries anything from the ranges? :)

MTV EMAs Amsterdam 2013: Best & Worst Dressed

Last night was the hugely anticipated MTV EMAs 2013 in Amsterdam, and as per usual, the second most anticipated feature of the night besides the awards, was the fashion. To sum it up in three words, flesh, sheer & black. Everywhere. From fishnet to vintage, lace to elegance, the main talking point was the sheer amount of flesh on show, not to mention the highly controversial presence of Miley Cyrus again. So below I have compiled my small pick of the best and worst dressed at the EMAs, what do you think? What were your opinions of the fashion favourites and fashion faux pas? :)

 1. Katy Perry began the night wearing a beautifully elegant structured mint satin dress by Zac Rosen resort 2014, teamed with a vintage Dolce & Gabbana headband and dusty pink Charlotte Olympia shoes. But it wasn't just her outfit which grabbed our attention, as eyes were drawn to what looks like an engagement ring on her finger!
2. Katy opted for a very different look after receiving her award, and slipped into a gorgeous sheer black fishnet skater dress, which she combined with chunky Chanel jewellery and red lips. Loving her shoes also!
3. Laura Whitmore remained classy in a beautiful strapless peplum mini dress, with white and black lace and feather embellishment, absolutely love this outfit.
4. Rita Ora never fails to impress, and aside from her usual quirky style, she brought old Hollywood glamour back to the catwalk in a sultry plunging neck, thigh- high split black gown.
5. As ever, Ellie Goulding looked stunning in a daring, completely sheer, black lace gown. This dress fits perfectly with her current "bare it all" style at the moment, and draws strong comparisons to the gown to wore to her X Factor UK performance just a few weeks ago.
1. Miley, what have you done? As a huge lover of Miley Cyrus, I usually try my hardest to see the best in her style, despite the controversy surrounding her of late. However, besides smoking a joint on stage and twerking again, this outfit was simply horrific. Her vintage mini lace up dress which adorned pictures of Biggie Smalls and Tupac was accompanied by gold and silver jewellery and monochrome thigh-high boots from the Tom Ford Fall 2013 collection, not a good look Miley.
2. It is safe to say that her style choices didn't get any better as the show progressed, as she completed her 'Wrecking Ball' performance in a high cut white body suit and skyscraper heels, the camel toe is not a good luck Miley.
3. Speaking of camel toe's Iggy Azalea managed to loose all dignity when she accidently had a wardrobe malfunction and bared all the cameras. Her sheer black dress, which was slashed all the way up to her belly button was however bang on trend with most celebs opting for black last night, and she teamed her dress with some beautiful red platform sandals, however not a fashion favourite.

My Week In Pictures...

So this isn't one of my usual type of posts, but I thought that I might as well actually share an insight into my life with all my blog followers! So, below is a quick look at what I have been up too during the past week, what have you been up too recently? Enjoy! :)
Firstly, I finally jumped on the band wagon and got myself an iphone 4S, if I am honest, I used to think that there was waaaay too much hype over apple products and especially iphone's, but I absolutely love mine, my quality of life has genuinely improved massively, hehe. Here is a picture of me and my little sister Isabelle, (excuse the ridiculous facial expressions) I get so excited when my family come to visit me at uni, I get so lonely! The next picture is a bit of a random, but I was so excited to receive free candy floss from the Ted Baker shop in Leeds, nobody turns down free candy floss, right? BONFIRE NIGHT, after trying to get all of my flat mates to come to the fireworks with me, (nobody could face the freezing cold) so I called on my bestie to come with me, I love fireworks and they were amaaaaazing. Thursday was the Christmas lights switch on in Leeds, I have never been to one of these before as I come from a  pretty small town, but I really enjoyed it, yet again, more fireworks! Me and my flat mate also got to see Gabriella Cilmi singing live, (she was turning the lights on) and she was brilliant! Finally, in Leeds there is an annual German Christmas market which I was super hyped up about because I absolutely LOVE Christmas, it certainly did not disappoint, just look at that food!

My pick of Autumn/ Winter 2013 Trends

For those of you who follow my blog, and regularly read my posts, will be able to see that I am a little bit of a shopaholic... so as you would expect, I am always having a little shopping spree browsing what's new on the high street, except now its more window shopping now the all my student loan has practically vanished, (no idea where it went!). Aha, anyway this post is sort of a wish list/ selection of some bits and pieces that have caught my eye, and a little insight into what are my favourite trends for Autumn/ Winter 2013. :)

Glitter. Everywhere I look there is glitter, and glitter on every piece of clothing you could imagine. This is a perfect trend in time for the Christmas party season, and what I especially love is that stores are bringing back a little bit of 90's/00's chic to the high street, I am particularly in love with the two tone socks, heels and cutsie scrunchie.

2. Lips in beguiled- £8- Topshop
3. Matte nails in brutal- £6- Topshop

Cosy winter warmers... who doesn't love to be snug as a bug in a jumper at this time of year? I love these two jumpers by Topshop and Lipsy as they also add a little bit of sparkle with gems and pearls to stay bang on trend! The introduction of faux fur is also something to look out for because its everywhere! Finally, who couldn't resist a pair of reindeer slippers for Christmas?! I want all of these!

Happy Halloweeeeen!

Happy halloweeeen! So, I don't actually think I have dressed up for Halloween for soooo many years now but seen as I'm now a student and was going out to celebrate, I thought i'd just go for it! Instead of doing the typical 'blood splattered nurse' or quirky banana costume (like my flat mate) I decided to be more traditional and go as a cat, original, I know.... Anyway I wore a long sleeved lace black peplum top, disco pants,  wedges and made my outfit a little more Halloweeny with a cat masquerade mask and a touch of fake blood :p What were you wearing this Halloween?
Long sleeved lace peplum- £10- Primark
Wedges- New Look
